Weekend events rescheduled

Two NPHS varsity sporting events have been rescheduled. They were both were postponed Jan. 12, 2019 due to a heavy snowfall in Central Indiana. The New Palestine wrestling team finished second at Saturday’s New Palestine Triple-Dual, going 2-1 on the day. The New Palestine wrestling team went 1-2 at Saturday’s Roncalli Triple-Dual. The Dragons beat Seymour 54-21 in the opening round. NP then fell to Roncalli 61-12 and Noblesville 39-32. The New Palestine wrestling team dropped its home opener 72-3 Wednesday to Cathedral. The Dragons’ victory came from junior Jacob Brittsan, who won a close decision at 285. The Dragons are next on the mat Saturday at the Roncalli Triple-Dual.

Wrestlers open season with 3-2 day at DC

The New Palestine wrestling team opened the season with a 3-2 record at Saturday’s Decatur Central Super 8 Duals. The Dragons opened the day with a 45-25 loss to Plainfield. NP then won its next three matches, beating Greensburg 60-15, Terre Haute North 56-18 and Mooresville 38-33. In the final round, NP fell to Greenwood 48-30.

2018 NPHS summer sports camps

Burton drops close match at State Finals

New Palestine High School senior Landan Burton dropped a close 8-6 match to Whiteland’s Ryan Hammond in the first round of the IHSAA State Finals.
