Black advances to State Finals, team places 5th

New Palestine junior Mackenzi Black punched her ticket to the IHSAA State Finals in girls golf, shooting a 76 at Saturday’s Lapel regional at Edgewood Golf Course in Anderson. Black finished sixth overall at the regional – three strokes behind champion Holly Anderson of Columbus North. She posted the third-lowest score among golfers on a non-advancing team.

Golf claims sectional 3-peat

The New Palestine golf team won its third consecutive sectional championship Monday, firing an 18-hole score of 349 to win the title by 24 strokes. Overnight rains caused the postponement of several NPHS events scheduled for Saturday. Girls golf: The sectional will now be played at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Old Oakland Golf Course in Oaklandon. Golf wins on senior day

The New Palestine golf team won on its senior day Tuesday, beating Mt. Vernon 178-215 at Hawk’s Tail. Mackenzi Black was medalist, shooting a 39. Annaliese Fox added a 41, with each her and Black shooting a birdie during the nine-hole round. Payton Hill shot 48 and Cassidy Harp 50 to round out the Dragons’ scoring.

Fox’s record 33 leads golf to victory

Freshman Annaliese Fox set a nine-hole school record to lead the New Palestine golf team to a 156-170 victory over Pendleton Heights Monday at Fall Creek Golf Club in Pendleton. Fox shot a three-under-par 33 on the nine-hole course, and the Dragons as a team were one stroke shy of the team nine-hole school record.

Golf repeats as HHC champion

The New Palestine golf team took home more hardware Saturday, repeating as the Hoosier Heritage Conference champion. The Dragons shot 348, a season-best 18-hole score. NP has now won the New Castle and New Palestine invitational titles, as well as the Hancock County and HHC championships. Annaliese Fox won the individual conference title, shooting a 78, while

Boys soccer, golf vs. Shelbyville PPD

The New Palestine at Shelbyville boys soccer game scheduled for Sept. 8 will be postponed to Saturday, Sept. 17 at Shelbyville. The JV game will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 7 p.m. The Shelbyville at New Palestine golf match scheduled for Thursday has been canceled due to weather.

The New Palestine golf team had a strong showing Tuesday on the State Finals course, finishing third in a 3-way match against two top-10 teams. The New Palestine golf team stayed undefeated Thursday, beating Lawrence Central 180-240 on the sectional course at Old Oakland. The Dragons’ Annaliese Fox was medalist.

Golf repeats as county champion

The New Palestine girls golf team repeated as the Hancock County champion Tuesday, beating runner-up Mt. Vernon by 34 strokes.
