Spring athletes receive HHC honors

Several New Palestine athletes have been selected to All-Hoosier Heritage Conference teams. Girls track headed to state in four events

The New Palestine girls track team clinched State Finals berths in four events in Tuesday’s Shelbyville regional. Overall, the Dragons finished sixth in the regional among the 25 teams who scored points, tallying 37 points. Warren Central (121) was the regional champion. Girls track places second in sectional

Morgan Willard won a sectional championship in the high jump, leading the New Palestine girls track team to a second-place sectional finish Tuesday at Shelbyville. Willard cleared 5-foot-3 to win the high jump sectional title, the Dragons’ lone individual champion. However, NP had four runner-up performances – including all three relays – and four more third-place finishes.

Girls track repeats as HHC champion

The New Palestine Dragons won their second consecutive Hoosier Heritage Conference girls track and field title, tallying 143.5 points to claim the trophy Tuesday at Mt. Vernon. Girls track defends county title

The New Palestine girls track and field team won its second straight Hancock County championship Wednesday. The Dragons tallied 99 points to best the field. Mt. Track teams eighth at Zionsville

The New Palestine track teams finished eighth Friday at the 28-team Zionsville Invitational. The Dragon girls tallied 44 points and were just 14 points back of fourth place. The NP boys tallied 29.5 points and were 8.5 back of sixth. The NP boys had eight top-10 finishes in the meet, including two in the high jump.

Girls track wins triangular meet

The New Palestine girls track team won 11 events Tuesday en route to a three-way victory over Roncalli and Franklin Central at Kelso Stadium.
