Golf beats Marauders on senior night

The Dragon golf team posted a 171-189 victory over Mt. Vernon on Senior Night at Hawk’s Tail. Abby Poole was the Dragons’ medalist with a 39. Mackenzi Black shot 41, Cassie Rooks 45 and Carly Jones 46. The Dragons next play today at Rushville.

The New Palestine volleyball team had a strong performance in a three-set loss to Delta Tuesday evening. The Dragons fell 25-15, 25-11, 25-20. Tennis claims county crown

The Dragon boys tennis team swept all five positions to win the Hancock County title. Individual county champs were Brent Barrett, Jake Purcell and Coltin Espich at singles, and the doubles teams of Ben Farley/David Thompson and Josh McKinney/Evan Rejer. Voelz wins at Whiteland

Samuel Voelz won the individual championship to help the New Palestine boys cross country team finish second at the 12-team Whiteland Invitational. It was Voelz’s first individual crown this seaosn. The Dragon volleyball team went 2-1 at the Greenwood Invitational and finished as the tourney runner-up on Saturday. The Dragons beat Monrovia 25-6, 25-10 in the opener. The Dragon golfers shot 327 on Saturday at the Hoosier Heritage Conference golf tournament at the Muncie Elks Golf Course finishing second to defending champion Yorktown (304). The New Palestine football team bookended Friday’s 31-3 victory over Mt. Vernon with safety. Two safeties, in fact – one to get the Dragons started, the other to put the final points on the board.
