New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls golf team won its home opener Monday, beating Greenwood 178-210 in the Dragons' return to The Links. Senior Lauren Appleby was match medalist with a 43, leading the Dragons. Katie Kelley added a 44. Lauren Deering and Hanna Beller each shot 45s. In addition, Lily Kirchner shot 46, Kate Stanfield 47 and Janie Hamilton 48. Kirchner was best on the green, with a team-low 17 total putts over nine holes. The Dragons are back in action Thursday at Noblesville.
