Hailey Pardieck and Mike Bauer both earned spots in the IHSAA cross country State Finals, thanks to their performances in Saturday's regional at Shelbyville. Pardieck finished 15th in the girls race, running the 5K Blue River Cross Country Course in 18:46.5. Bauer was 25th in the boys race, with a time of 17:03.2. The top five teams and top 15 individuals from non-advancing teams advance. The State Finals will be Nov. 1 at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. Pardieck helped lead the Dragons girls to a seventh-place finish in a 25-team field with 242 places. Elena Daugherty was 35th (19:25.2), Abby Journay 72nd (20:08.9), Adi Smith 75th (20:11.3) and Brynn Richey 90th (20:23.7) in a 243-runner field. The Dragons boys finished 15th of 25 teams. In addition to Bauer's top-25 finish, Carson Cooper was 92nd (17:03.2), Gabe Silvey 115th (17:26.3), Micah Jones 146th (17:51.7) and Cody Lowe 164th (18:09.5) in a 245-runner field.
