New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls golf team shot 347 Saturday to finish third in the 18-team Greensburg Invitational at the Greensburg Country Club. Freshman Lauren Deering shot 80, tying for sixth overall in the tournament. Katie Kelley added an 84, Lauren Appleby shot 91 and Kate Stanfield 92. Lily Kirchner's 93 was the fifth score. Center Grove and Franklin each shot 315, with CG winning on the fifth score tiebreaker. The Dragons finished ahead of fourth-place Richmond (353), fifth-place Franklin County (363) and 13 other teams. The Dragons are back in action at 4 p.m. Monday at The Links against Greenwood.
