Volleyball wins Richmond Invitational title

The New Palestine girls volleyball team took home another trophy Saturday, sweeping four matches to win the Richmond Invitational. In the opener, the Dragons beat Winchester 25-14, 25-15. Hayden Ramsey and Natalie Sevier had eight kills each. Sevier also had 10 digs. Cara Steele tallied seven kills. Sam Gooding had 16 assists. Azure Flagle added eight digs and three aces. Kennedy Armstrong had four digs. The Dragons then beat Seton Catholic 25-9, 25-13. Caylee Brown tallied seven kills and Sevier six. Adelynn Crispin tallied four kills. Paige Trimpe had 14 assists and Gooding 10. Flagle tallied 11 digs, Beth Comer six, Kennedy Armstrong five and Elena Cook four. Armstrong also had five aces. The Dragons finished pool play with a 25-15, 25-9 victory over Richmond. Crispin had six kills. Ramsey added four kills and four aces. Sevier also had four kills. Gooding tallied 16 assists and two aces. Flagle had eight digs and Armstrong four. In the final match, the Dragons won a tight 25-23, 25-20 duel over Greenwood Christian. Brown led the Dragons with 12 kills. Sevier and Ramsey had seven each and Steele six. Crispin had eight digs, Armstrong six and Flagle five. Gooding tallied 21 assists. The Dragons are now 24-3 on the season. They next play Monday at Noblesville.
