New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys golf team shot 345 Thursday to finish 12th in the Muncie regional at The Players Club in Yorktown. Nick Barada led the Dragons, shooting 78 - including 37 on the back nine. He was three strokes shy of a playoff to go to the State Finals. The top three teams and top two individuals from non-advancing teams advanced from the 15-team regional. Luke Cofer shot 84, including 38 on the front nine. Alex Cofer added a 91 and Joey McPike a 93. Landon Beaty shot 97 as the fifth score. The Dragons were two strokes away from 10th place. Hamilton Southeastern (293), Tipton (303) and Noblesville (309) clinched the three State Finals spots from the regional.
