Girls track competes in regional

The New Palestine girls track and field team competed in Tuesday's IHSAA regional at Franklin, scoring 15.5 points to finish 13th out of 22 scoring teams. The Dragons' top finisher was Quin Lumbley in the shot put, with a distance of 39-10.5. She finished fourth. Abby Journay finished fifth in the high jump with a leap of 5-1. Sydney Miller placed sixth in the discus with a distance of 121-6. Rylee Hurst was seventh in the 400 (1:00.26). Rebecca Johnson tied for eighth in the pole vault with a height of 9-0. Also scoring was the 4x400 relay of Hurst, Olivia Frank, Alexis Baynes and Journay, which finished eighth (4:09.26). Also competing in the regional were Journay, who was 12th in the 400 (1:01.21). Study was 12th in the 1600 (5:44.45). The 4x800 relay of Cami Massari, Amelia Stone, McKenzie Hacker and Study finished 13th (10:51.79).
