CC teams shine at Shelbyville

The New Palestine cross country teams both had strong days at Saturday's Golden Bear Invitational in Shelbyville at the Blue River Cross Country Course. The Dragons girls finished fourth in a 19-team field, with 144 places. Fishers (28), Hamilton Heights (94) and Cathedral (140) took the top three spots. Hailey Pardieck was fifth overall in 19:23.33. Elena Daugherty was 19th (20:17.19), Abby Journay 31st (20:40.23), Adi Smith 41st (20:55.65) and Brynn Richey 61st (21:36.25). The Dragons boys were ninth out of 22 teams with 289 places. Fishers (85), Lawrence North (91) and Carmel (96) took the top three spots. Mike Bauer was sixth (16:19.93), Carson Cooper 50th (17:30.10), Gabe Silvey 72nd (17:55.69), Micah Jones 96th (18:15.33) and Zion Koch 97th (18:16.81). The Dragons return to the Blue River course next Saturday for the Hoosier Heritage Conference meet.
