New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls golf team shot its best nine-hole round of the year Tuesday, but dropped a 154-156 decision to Mt. Vernon at Arrowhead. Lauren Deering and Katie Kelley each shot 37s to lead the Dragons. Matti Tiede-White and Tessa Mohr both had season-best rounds of 41. Carlee Poorbaugh added a 46 and Jozlynn Hart a 51. The Dragons JV fell 203-206 to the Marauders, with several season bests. Aubree Amback's 49 led the Dragons. Abby Keyes added a 51, while Elise Weimer and Libby Hunter each shot 52. Mallory Mohr added a 53. Emma Peregrine and Emilee Neff each shot 56 and Haidyn Lavish 58. The Dragons next compete Monday in the sectional at The Links.
