Volleyball wins Greenwood Invitational title

The New Palestine volleyball team swept the Greenwood Invitational Saturday, winning all three matches to claim the title. The Dragons opened the day with a 25-14, 25-17 victory over Chatard. Natalie Sevier had seven kills and four aces. Cara Steele and Hayden Ramsey had six kills each. Elena Cook added three. Azure Flagle added nine digs. Kennedy Armstrong had three digs and two aces. Sam Gooding tallied 22 assists. The Dragons advanced to the final with a 25-7, 25-8 victory over Decatur Central. Ramsey had six kills and four digs. Sevier added five kills and Caylee Brown four. Steele tallied three kills. Paige Trimpe and Adelynn Crispin had two each. Gooding had 26 assists and four aces. Flagle ahd five digs, two assists and two aces. Alex Gooding and Haven Flagle each had aces. The Dragons went three sets in the championship match to beat Lebanon 26-28, 25-21, 15-6. Sevier had a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs. Ramsey and Brown had nine kills each, while Steele added five. Gooding tallied 31 assists. Azure Flagle had 14 digs and Crispin six. The Dragons are now 11-2 on the season. They next play Tuesday at Delta.
