Beaty's fourth-place finish leads golf at county

Senior Landon Beaty shot a 41 Wednesday at Hawk's Tail, leading the New Palestine golf team to a third-place finish at the Hancock County meet. Beaty's round placed him fourth overall in the county and earned him All-County honors. As a team, the Dragons shot 172, finishing third in a tight four-team field. Greenfield-Central won with a 165, with Mt. Vernon shooting 168. Eastern Hancock was fourth with a 221. In addition to Beaty's 41, Luke Cofer shot 43. Alex Cofer and Nick Barada each shot 44s. Josiah Kissel's 52 was the fifth score. The Dragons are next in action Monday at Hawk's Tail against Warren Central.
