New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys volleyball team won the first-ever matchup between two Hoosier Heritage Conference schools Monday, beating Shelbyville 22-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-19. The Dragons and Golden Bears are the only two HHC schools that have boys volleyball teams. Jake Cwikla led the Dragins with 13 kills. Will Hahn added seven and Carter Hacker six. Eli Martin had 17 digs to lead the defense. Kameron Engle had 30 assists. Cwikla and Aaron Smith had three aces each. The Dragons improved to 8-9 with the victory. They next play Thursday at Whiteland.
