Boys tennis drops tight match

The New Palestine boys tennis team dropped a tight 3-2 match Tuesday at home against Franklin, with the top two singles contests going the distance. At No. 1 singles, Carson Rush won a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 decision. Tyler Walter dropped a tight 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 contest at No. 2 singles. Brock Hehmann had the Dragons' other victory, a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3. At doubles, Luke Bartusek/Gavin Berry fell 6-2, 6-2 and Davis Harrison/Jack Hehmann lost 6-3, 6-4. The Dragons are now 2-3 on the season. They next compete Wednesday at home against Greenfield-Central. The Dragons' JV won 3-2, with Brady Groce, Sean Pearson and Jackson Clark/J.P. Peterson all winning.
