Golf wins New Palestine Invitational title

The New Palestine girls golf team posted its first 18-hole tournament title of the season Saturday, winning the eight-team New Palestine Invitational at The Links. The Dragons shot 348 to win the invitational, with Mt. Vernon finishing second (353) and Heritage Christian third (375). Katie Kelley and Lauren Deering both shot 76, tying for third overall. Matti Tiede-White added a 95. Kalle Jones shot 101. Carlee Poorbaugh's 106 was the fifth score. The New Palestine White team also competed and shot 455, led by Aubree Amback's 110. Mallory Mohr added a 113, Jozlynn Hart 114 and Elise Weimer 118. Libby Hunter's 122 was the fifth score. The Dragons are next in action Thursday at Brickyard Crossing against Speedway and Avon.
