New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys tennis team won its Hoosier Heritage Conference opener Thursday, beating visiting Yorktown 5-0. The Dragons won five straight-set matches. At singles, Carson Rush won 6-3, 6-0; Tyler Walter won 6-2, 6-1 and Brock Hehmann posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Jackson Clark/Davis Harrison won 6-0, 7-5 and Luke Bartusek/Gavin Berry won 6-2, 6-0 at doubles. The Dragons are now 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. They next play Monday at Delta. The Dragons' JV won 4-1, with Jack Hehmann, Sean Pearson, James Perry/Brady Groce and J.P. Peterson/Jacob Kleine winning.
