Baseball drops conference tilt

The New Palestine baseball team dropped a 10-2 decision Wednesday at Mt. Vernon. The Dragons are now 5-5 on the season and 2-4 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play, as MV took both games in the two-game series. The Dragons fell behind 9-0 in the opening two innings, as the Marauders had nine hits against three Dragons pitchers. MV added a run in the fourth to go up 10-0. In the fifth, the Dragons scored twice to extend the game, as Ben Hirschy hit a two-run, two-out single, plating Blaine Nunnally and Brayden Marrow. The Dragons were outhit 10-6. Hirschy led the Dragons, going 2-for-2. Marrow and Nunnally each hit a double and scored a run. Wyatt Mathies and Michael Thorpe also had hits for the Dragons. The Dragons return home Thursday to face Southport.
