The fourth-ranked New Palestine softball team blasted six homers Tuesday in a 16-5 six-inning victory at East Central. The Dragons plated runs in each inning en route to the victory. Reese Rosenbaum, Katie Hirschy, Allie Blum, Aglaia Rudd, Maddie Engle and Alyssa Mumaw all homered for the Dragons. The Dragons jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, as Rudd and Mumaw had back-to-back RBI hits, and extended it to 3-0 when Rosenbaum doubled and scored on Sydney Oliver's groundout in the second. The homer parade started in the third. After EC drew to within 3-2, Hirschy and Rosenbaum each hit two-run shots to extend the lead to 7-2. Blum added a three-run homer in the fifth to extend the lead to 13-3.
