New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys volleyball team won its first-ever home match Tuesday, beating Beech Grove 25-8, 25-10, 25-19. The Dragons had a big night at the service line, as senior Jake Cwikla tallied a school-record 13 aces. As a team, the Dragons had 21 aces. Jaxon Hinkle added four and Will Hahn two. Hahn led a balanced offense with five kills. Eli Martin, Carter Hacker and Cwikla had three kills each. Kameron Engle had 18 assists. James O'Dell led the defense with five digs. Jack Rossell and Aaron Smith had three each. The Dragons also won the JV match in straight sets. The Dragons (3-5) next play Thursday at Westfield.
