The New Palestine tennis team edged Whiteland 3-2 Wednesday afternoon, improving to 6-0 in dual matches. Bethany Blachly won by injury default, leading 7-5, 3-0 when the match ended. Kaitlyn Mitchell added a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Maizy Haynes/Riley Watts won 6-1, 7-6(2). The Dragons dropped matches at No. 3 singles, where Sydney Walter fell 6-1, 6-1; and No. 2 doubles, where Alyssa Beller/Addison Ballard dropped a close 7-6(2), 2-6, 10-8 decision, using a third-set super-tiebreaker. The Dragons (6-0) are next in action Thursday at Delta.
