Gymnastics finishes ninth at State Finals

The New Palestine gymnastics team finished ninth at Saturday's State Finals at Worthen Arena in Muncie, tallying a team score of 100.6. Valparaiso (112.35) defeated Homestead (111.625) to win the title. The Dragons' top event was the floor exercise, where J.J. Fee finished 14th with a score of 9.1. Lynzie Stiller was 18th (9.025) and Olivia Frank 39th (8.55). On balance beam, Fee finished 15th (8.85), with Chiara Polo 39th (7.825) and Reagan Seal 42nd (7.45). On uneven bars, Stiller finished 22nd (8.325), Addy Kendall 30th (7.925) and Frank 33rd (7.9). On vault, Stiller was 40th (8.7), Rebecca Johnson 42nd (8.65) and Emily Hunter 46th (8.3). The Dragons completed a successful season in which they won the sectional title and advanced to the State Finals as a team for the first time in eight years.
