The New Palestine girls tennis team won its conference opener, sweeping the doubles in a 4-1 victory at Yorktown. Maizy Haynes/Riley Watts won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Addison Ballard/Alyssa Beller won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. At singles, Kaitlyn Mitchell was first off the court with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3. Bethany Blachly rallied to win 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. At No. 1 singles, Arabella Deisher dropped a 7-6(5), 6-0 match. The Dragons are back on the court Friday for the Hancock County meet at Mt. Vernon.
