New Palestine High School

The New Palestine gymnastics team scored a season-high 103.425 points to win Saturday's Connersville sectional. The Dragons won their first sectional championship since 2017 and the 11th in program history. The Dragons won three of the four individual events and Lynzie Stiller was the all-around sectional champion, scoring 34.3. The Dragons swept the floor exercise, with J.J. Fee winning the sectional title with a score of 9.525. Stiller was second (9.4) and Olivia Frank third (8.725). Addy Kendall was seventh (8.325). On balance beam, Fee won the sectional title with a score of 9.525. Kendall was sixth (8.325) and Stiller ninth (8.275). Kendall won the sectional title on uneven bars, scoring 8.3. Stiller was third (7.925) and Frank fifth (7.75). On vault, Stiller finished sixth (8.7) to lead the Dragons, with Frank 10th (8.5) and Rebecca Johnson 12th (8.475). The Dragons advance to Friday's Franklin Central regional, which will be held at The Gymnastics Company on Franklin Road.
