Pardieck sets record in track sweep

Freshman Hailey Pardieck set the 3200 school record Tuesday as the New Palestine track and field teams swept Rushville and Connersville at Kelso Stadium. The Dragons girls scored 81 points, to beat Connersville (33) and Rushville (31). The Dragons boys tallied 103.5 points to Rushville's 28 and Connersville's 13.5. Pardieck ran the 3200 in 11:08.74, winning the race by more than two and a half minutes and breaking the school record. Also winning for the Dragons girls were Taylor Burke in the 100 hurdles (17.95), Rylee Hurst in the 400 (1:05.5), Margaret Barrett in the 800 (2:40.80) and Abby Journay in the 200 (27.85). The 4x800 relay of Barrett, Olivia Weaver, Evelyn Kell and Pardieck won (10:51.54), as did the 4x100 of Cayanna Brown, Caylee Brown, Burke and Journay (53.71) and the 4x400 relay of Abby Journay, Bri Journay, Burke and McKenzie Hacker (4:32.09). Finishing second for the Dragons girls were Maddy Brooks in the 100 hurdles, Cayanna Brown in the 100, Hacker in the 1600, Weaver in the 400, Hurst in the 200 and long jump and Cadyn Brown in the shot put. Winners for the Dragons boys were Paxton Holmes in the 110 hurdles (15.33) and 300 hurdles (41.71), Eli Wasson in the 100 (11.11) and 200 (22.75), Mike Bauer in the 1600 (4:59.39), Dylan Dragoo in the 400 (42.79), Gavin Smith in the 800 (2:10.67), Carson Cooper in the 3200 (10:47.88), Colton Spears in the high jump (6-0) and Landon Seib in shot put (43-9). Smith, Cooper, Zion Koch and Charlie Rigsbee won the 4x800 relay (8:58.39). Holmes, Wasson, Will Bardonner and Bryce Neuner won the 4x100 relay (43.94). Rigsbee, Smith, Neuner and Dragoo won the 4x400 relay (3:38.78). Finishing second were Neuner in the 100, Harrison Carr in the 1600, Rigsbee in the 400, Bardonner in the 300 hurdles, Bauer in the 800, Colton Spears in the 200, Hayden Flanagan in the 3200 and Brock Sennott in the high jump and long jump. The Dragons are next in action Thursday at Perry Meridian.
