Track teams compete at Chatard

The New Palestine track and field teams competed in Saturday's Bishop Chatard Invitational. The Dragons boys finished second, while the girls placed fourth. West Lafayette won the boys meet with 109 points. The Dragons tallied 89, Cathedral 72 and Chatard 61. In the girls meet, the Dragons tallied 56 points, finishing behind Chatard (113), Cathedral (91) and West Lafayette (71). Winners for the Dragons boys were Eli Wasson in the 100 (11.30) and 200 (22.50), Quinn Cramer in the pole vault (12-6) and the 4x100 relay of Paxton Holmes, Wasson, Will Bardonner and Bryce Neuner (43.74). Placing second for the Dragons boys were Paxton Holmes in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Dylan Dragoo in the 400, Carson Cooper in the 1600, Landon Seib in the shot put and the 4x400 relay of Charlie Rigsbee, Wasson, Dragoo and Holmes. Placing second for the Dragons girls were Abby Journay in the 200 and high jump (5-1), Hailey Pardieck in the 1600, the 4x800 relay of Margaret Barrett, McKenzie Hacker, Bri Journay and Olivia Weaver and the 4x100 relay of Addison Schoolcraft, Cayleee Brown, Cayanna Brown and Abby Journay. The Dragons are next in action Tuesday in a three-way meet at Kelso Stadium against Rushville and Connersville.
