Isabelle Tull won her second straight diving sectional title and Chloe Siler clinched a State Finals spot in the 50 freestyle, leading the New Palestine girls swimming and diving team to a third-place finish in Saturday's New Palestine sectional. The Dragons set four school records on the day. Tull did so in diving, winning the competition with a score of 401.30 - more than 50 points greater than the second-place finisher. She will advance to next week's diving regional. In the 50 free, Siler posted a school-record time of 24.02. She finished second, but her time was good enough to clinch a spot in next week's State Finals at the IU Natatorium. The Dragons had a number of other top finishes. Ireland Armstrong, Lillie Abernathy, Siler and Rachel Hamilton opened the meet by finishing second in the 200 medley relay and setting a school record with a time of 1:54.21. Siler set a second individual school record Saturday, as she followed up her record performance from Thursday's prelims in the 100 butterfly by besting that mark. She swam 59.11 seconds and finished third. The Dragons' 200 free relay team of Abernathy, Cadyn Brown, Hamilton and Siler also finished second (1:45.44). Abernathy finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke and fifth in the 100 butterfly. Armstrong was fifth in the 500 freestyle. Piper Schaefer was fifth in the 500 freestyle. Brown was eighth in the 100 freestyle.
