Gymnastics falls at Columbus North

A shorthanded New Palestine gymnastics team posted a solid score Thursday, but dropped a 105.15-98.35 decision at Columbus North. The Dragons' best event was the balance beam, where Addy Kendall placed second with a 9.025 and Chaira Polo was third (8.65). Emily Hunter finished fifth (8.1). On uneven bars, Lynzie Stiller placed fourth (7.7) and Kendall fifth (7.6). On floor exercise, Stiller was fourth (8.5) and Olivia Frank fifth (8.35). On vault, Rebecca Johnson was fifth (8.4) and Frank sixth (8.35). Stiller placed fourth in the all-around with a score of 32.15. Polo was sixth (30.475). The Dragons are now 4-1 on the season in dual/tri meets. They next compete Thursday, Jan. 26 at Roncalli.
