Gymnasts have strong night to beat Shamrocks

The New Palestine gymnastics team had another strong night, beating Westfield 104.325-99.1. Pendleton Heights, which fielded an incomplete team, was third at 32.1. The Dragons had the top four finishers in the all-around. Lexi Hall won with a 34.45, with Lynzie Stiller second (34.375), Kalle Jones third (34.1) and Olivia Frank fourth (34.0). Each posted an individual apparatus win. Chiara Polo was sixth (33.95). The Dragons swept the top five spots on bars. Stiller won with an 8.5. Hall was second at 8.475, followed by Polo (8.075), Frank (7.95) and Jones (7.95). The Dragons also took the top three spots on floor exercise, with Frank winning (9.15), followed by Stiller (8.95) and Hall (8.95), who tied for second. Jones was fourth (8.75) and Polo fifth (8.65). Hall led a 1-2 finish on vault with an 8.95, followed by Stiller (8.7). Frank was fourth (8.5) and Polo fifth (8.4). Jones won the beam (9.25), with Polo third (8.425) and Frank fourth (8.4). The Dragons are now 5-0 on the season in dual and tri-meets. They next compete Thursday at Columbus North.
