Girls basketball drops road game

The New Palestine girls basketball team fell behind early Friday and dropped a 75-38 decision at Pendleton Heights. The Dragons had a solid offensive first quarter, with Kendra Moore scoring five points and Kylee Beranek four, but PH built a 20-13 lead. The Dragons hit four 3-points in the second - with Brooklyn Crim hitting two and Haven Flagle and Gabbie Brown one each - but PH's Kaycie Warfel scored 11 points and helped the Arabians build a 42-25 halftime edge. The Dragons were outscored 19-9 in the third, with Sadey Hughbanks scoring five points. Crim led the Dragons with 10 points. Hughbanks and Moore tallied seven each. Tylar Whitaker and Beranek tallied four points each. Flagle and Brown each scored three. Warfel led four Arabians in double figures with 25 points. The Dragons are now 8-8 on the season and 1-5 in HHC play. They next play Tuesday at home against Roncalli.
