The New Palestine gymnastics team downed Shelbyville 103.25-70.025 Thursday in the Dragons' home opener at The Gymnastics Company. Pendleton Heights, which had an incomplete team, finished third with 30.35 in the triangular meet. Lexi Hall won the vault (9.1), with Olivia Frank second (8.45) and Chiara Polo third (8.4). On beam, Frank won with a score of 9.125, with Hall second (9.0) and Kalle Jones third (8.6). Lynzie Stiller was fourth (7.75) and Polo fifth (7.725). Stiller won on bars (8.725), with Jones second (8.15), followed by Frank (8.0), Hall (7.7) and Polo (7.4). Stiller also won on floor (8.8), with Polo second (8.575), Jones and Hall tied for third (8.425) and Frank fifth (8.375). The Dragons took the top five spots in the all-around, with Hall (34.225), Frank (33.95), Stiller (33.175), Jones (33.075) and Polo (32.0) nearly giving the Dragons a clean sweep of the podium. The Dragons are now 3-0. They next compete Saturday in the Franklin Central Invitational at The Gymnastics Company.
