Swimmers fall to Flashes

The New Palestine swimming and diving teams both fell Saturday to Franklin Central. The boys dropped a 99-86 decision, while the girls fell 123-63. Winners for the Drabons boys were Dawson Lynch in the 200 IM (2:14.13) and 100 backstroke (59.24), Blake Hurst in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.80), , James Watson in the 50 freestyle (23.60) and 100 freestyle (51.79), the 200 medley relay team of Lynch, Blake Hurst, Jacob Myers and Watson (1:45.30) and the 200 free relay team of Karter McNeil, Ashton Turner, Myers and Watson (1:35.76). Finishing second were Sam Dobbins in the 200 freestyle, Myers in the 100 butterfly, Luke Appleby in the 100 breaststroke and the 400 free relay team of McNeil, Turner, Appleby and Lynch. Winners for the Dragons girls were Lillie Abernathy in the 200 IM (2:31.83) and 100 breaststroke (1:11.72), Chloe Siler in the 50 freestyle (25.24) and 100 butterfly (1:06.86) and Isabelle Tull in diving (219.30). Finishing second were Rachel Hamilton in the 100 freestyle, Ireland Armstrong in the 100 backstroke and the 200 medley relay team of Armstrong, Abernathy, Siler and Hamilton. The Dragons boys are 6-2, the girls now 6-4. They next compete in the Hoosier Heritage Conference meet at NPHS. The girls meet will be Jan. 4, with the boys meet Jan. 11.
