Swimmers second, third at East Central

The New Palestine swimming teams had a strong day at the East Central Relays. The Dragons boys finished second to East Central, with the host Trojans tallying 76 points to the Dragons' 62. The Dragons girls scored 64 points and finished third to East Central (76) and Columbus North (68). For the Dragons boys, Jake Myers, Sam Dobbins and Dawson Lynch won the 150 backstroke relay (1:23.37). Karter McNeil and James Watson were second in the 1000 free relay. David Gould, Ashton Turner, Luke Appleby and Karter McNeil were second in the 375 crescendo relay. Also finishing second were Dobbins, Blake Hurst, Myers and Watson in the 200 medley relay and Seth Merchant, Parker Hurst, Garrett Elkins and Max Watson in the 100 free relay. The 400 medley relay team of Lynch, Appleby and Blake Hurst was second. For the Dragons girls, Lillie Abernathy, Rachel Hamilton and Chloe Siler won the 100 butterfly relay (1:25.76). Ireland Armstrong, Hanna Stone, Cadyn Brown and Chloe Siler won the 100 free relay (52.40). Stone, Siler, Brown and Ireland Armstrong were second in the 375 crescendo relay. Arianna Tull, Armstrong and Hamilton were second in the 150 backstroke relay. Piper Schaefer, Stone and Abernathy were second in the 150 breaststroke relay. The Dragons are back in action Tuesday at Pendleton Heights.
