Boys swim beats Marauders

The New Palestine boys swimming and diving team won a close 94-86 meet over Mt. Vernon Thursday night. The Dragons girls fell 101-75. Winners for the Dragons boys were Aidan Stephens in diving (130.60), Ashton Turner in the 100 freestyle (53.67), Blake Hurst in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.47), the 200 medley relay of Dawson Lynch, Blake Hurst, Luke Appleby and Jake Myers (1:45.96) and the 200 free relay team of Appleby, Hurst, Karter McNeil and Myers (1:37.99). Finishing second were Lynch in the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Camden Rodgers in diving, Jake Myers in the 100 butterfly, McNeil in the 100 freestyle, Appleby in the 100 backstroke and the 400 free relay team of Turner, Sam Dobbins, Luke Bartusek and Lynch. Winners for the Dragons girls were Isabelle Tull in diving (161.55), the 200 free relay of Lillie Abernathy, Rachel Hamilton, Cadyn Brown and Chloe Siler (1:50.60), Finishing second were Lillie Abernathy in the 200 IM, Katie Kelley in diving, Isabelle Singer in the 100 butterfly, Siler in the 100 backstroke, Piper Schaefer in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 medley relay of Rachel Hamilton, Abernathy, Ireland Armstrong and Siler and the 400 free relay team of Armstrong, Schaefer, Brown and Arianna Tull. The Dragons boys are now 3-1 on the season, while the girls are 3-3. Both teams next compete Saturday at the East Central Relays.
