Swim teams fall in home meet

The New Palestine swimming and diving teams both fell Monday to Greenfield-Central, with the Dragons girls falling 125-54 and the boys dropping a 105.5-79.5 decision. Winning for the Dragons boys was the 200 free relay team of Ashton Turner, Reese Cox, Jake Myers and James Watson (1:36.65). Finishing second were Dawson Lynch in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, Jake Myers in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, James Watson in the 50 free, Aidan Stephens in diving, the 200 medley relay team of Lynch, Cox, Myers and Watson, the 200 free relay team of Sam Dobbins, Luke Bartusek, Seth Merchant and Blake Hurst and the 400 free relay team of Luke Appleby, Ashton Turner, Karter McNeil and Lynch. Winners for the Dragons girls were Chloe Siler in the 50 freestyle (26.16), Isabelle Tull in diving (181.5) and Lillie Abernathy in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.90). Finishing second were Katie Kelley in diving and Abernathy in the 100 butterfly. The Dragons are back in action Tuesday at home against Mt. Vernon.
