The New Palestine girls basketball team dropped a 46-42 decision Saturday at Delta. The Dragons fell behind early - trailing 15-8 after a quarter - and spent the rest of the game trying to catch up. In the third, the Dragons clamped down on defense. On the other end, Brooklyn Crim hit two 3-pointers and Kendra Moore scored five points, cutting the deficit to 38-34. In the fourth, the Dragons got an early basket from Haven Flagle, and were 6-of-8 from the line, but Delta was 4-of-5 from the stripe to seal the win. Crim led the Dragons with a career-high 11 points. Beranek tallied nine - all in the first half. Sadey Hughbanks added seven. Moore scored five points. Kenna Tweedy and Flagle had three each. Tylar Whitaker and Gabbie Brown each scored two. The Dragons are now 5-3 (1-1 HHC). They next play Tuesday at Shelbyville.
