Wagner-Gilbert wins at Ben Davis

June Wagner-Gilbert won at 130 pounds at Saturday's Ben Davis Invitational, leading the Dragons to an 11th-place finish. The Dragons had 61 points, with Wagner-Gilbert providing nearly half. She was one of two placers out of the five Dragons who competed. She advanced to the finals at 130 with two first-period falls, then won a 9-3 decision over Jay County's Lina Lingo. Callie Means placed fourth at 115. She won her first two matches by fall, but then was pinned in the semifinal. She won her wrestleback match, then lost by fall in the third-place match to go 3-2 on the day. Reagan Fortier and Bellamy Reardon both went 3-2 on the day. Miranda LaRoche was 1-2. The Dragons are next in action Tuesday at Warren Central in a dual meet.
