The New Palestine girls swimming and diving team swept its season opener Thursday at Greenwood. The Dragvons beat Greenwood 54-47 and Roncalli 66-36. Winners for the Dragons were Lillie Abernathy in the 200 IM (2:31.14) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.38), Isabelle Tull in diving (196.70), the 200 medley relay of Rachel Hamilton, Abernathy, Ireland Armstrong and Chloe Siler (2:07.97); and the 400 free relay of Cadyn Brown, Isabelle Singer, Arianna Tull and Ansley Tucker (4:41.85). Finishing second were Katie Kelley in diving, Siler in the 100 freestyle, Armstrong in the 500 freestyole and Arianna Tull in the 100 backstroke. Individuals placing third were Hamilton in the 100 butterfly, Singer in the 500 freestyle and Hanna Stone in the 100 breaststroke. The Dragons are next in action Tuesday at home against Cathedral, which will be a combined boys/girls meet.
