Girls wrestling competes at Purdue Poly

The New Palestine girls wrestling team had a strong day Saturday at the Purdue Poly Invitational. The Dragons finished fifth of 28 teams. Two Dragons advanced to the finals and placed second. Lillian Kissel and Carmie Kelle both went 3-1 and finished as runners-up in their respective weight classes. Jillian Champ finished third, going 4-1 on the day. Callie Means also wrestled back to third, going 5-1 on the day. June Wagner-Gilbert was also third, finishing 4-1. Placing fourth were Bellamy Reardon, Julia Champ and Miranda Laroche. Elizabeth Champ and Reagan Fortier both placed seventh. The Dragons next compete Wednesday in a dual meet at North Central.
