New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls soccer team played a strong game Thursday in the sectional semifinal, but fell 2-0 to East Central in the semifinal game of the New Palestine sectional. Tylar Whitaker had a pair of early shots, but the Dragons spent much of the night defending. East Central scored the go-ahead goal in the 56th minute on a long ball played to a player who was ahead of the defense for a breakaway. The Trojans added a goal in the 71st minute with a header off a corner kick. The Dragons finish the season with an 11-6 record.
