New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls golf team shot 378 at Friday's first round of the IHSAA State Finals at Prairie View Golf Club. The Dragons are currently 17th in the standings with 18 holes to go. Lauren Deering shot 82 and is in a 31st-place tie after the first round. Katie Kelley shot 88 and is in a 51st-place tie. Matti Tiede-White shot 103, Janie Hamilton 105 and Lily Kirchner 113 through 18 holes. The Dragons tee off Saturday morning in the final round of the State Finals.
