The New Palestine boys tennis team won its sectional opener Wednesday, beating Greenfield-Central 3-2 at Mt. Vernon. The Dragons (15-3) will face host Mt. Vernon in the sectional championship match at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The Dragons posted a trio of straight-set victories. Brady Torzewski won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. At doubles, Moses Haynes/Max Havel won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1, while Carson Rush/Andrew Hahn won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Arjomand Khokhar played a marathon match at No. 1 singles, falling 7-6, 4-6, 7-6. At No. 2 singles, Joey McPike dropped a 6-4, 6-3 match.
