Volleyball zaps Flashes

The New Palestine volleyball team posted another home sweep Thursday, beating Franklin Central 25-23, 25-18, 25-14. The Dragons took command early in each set, building double-digit leads in each. FC rallied to tie the first set at 22-22 with an 8-0 run before the Dragons put it away. The Dragons then put away the next two sets against a scrappy Flashes squad. Natalie Sevier had a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs. Azure Flagle tallied 16 digs and two aces, while Kyndra Monteith had 13 digs and an ace. Makaeli Johnson added seven digs. Josie Corbett added 10 kills and two blocks, including several to help put away the third set. Hayden Ramsey added eight kills and seven blocks. Grace Tippit tallied three kills, while Elena Cook had two kills and three blocks. Sam Gooding tallied 34 assists and three kills. The Dragons (22-1) are next in action Tuesday at home against Yorktown in the annual "Dig Pink" game. The Dragons also won the JV match in two sets.
