The New Palestine boys soccer team had to go to extra time, but tallied twice in the bonus 14 minutes to beat Delta 4-2 Saturday afternoon at NPHS. Paxton Holmes tallied a brace in regulation. He scored to give the Dragons a 1-0 lead in the first half off an interception. He then scored on a feed from Noah Diaz de Leon to put the Dragons up 2-0. Delta scored twice late in the second half to even the game up and send it to extra time. In the extra session, Holmes drew a penalty kick, which Cole Christopher buried. Diaz de Leon then fed Holmes for the hat trick and a key insurance goal to seal the victory. The Dragons are now 7-6 overall and 5-1 in HHC play. They next play Thursday at Carmel.
