Boys tennis tames Tigers

The New Palestine boys tennis team won a number of competitive matches Thursday to sweep Shelby County champion Triton Central 5-0 at NPHS. Arjomand Khokhar posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles and Brady Torzewski won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3. In the longest match of the night, Joey McPike won a super-tiebreaker 7-5, 3-6, 11-9 at No. 2. Moses Haynes/Max Havel won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while Andrew Hahn/Carson Rush won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2. The Dragons are now 13-2. They next play Monday against Richmond. The Dragon JV won 7-1. Winners were Joel Dorval, Tyler Walter, Brock Hehmann, Luke Bartusek, Jesse Isaacs, Jackson Clark, Davis Harrison, Rylan Edwards, Jack Hehmann, Brody Baker and Mitchell Ronan. The JV heads to Guerin Catholic for a Saturday invitational.
