New Palestine High School

Eli Martin scored twice in the opening half, leading the New Palestine boys soccer team to a 3-1 victory over visiting Greenfield-Central Thursday evening. The Dragons improved to 6-6 on the season and 4-1 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play. Martin scored in the 28th minute off a pass from Cole Christopher, then added a tally late in the opening half to open the lead up to 2-0. G-C drew within one in the second half, but Christopher added a late score, assisted by Hector Medrano, to extend the lead. The Dragons are next in action Saturday against Delta, with a JV half beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the varsity at approximately 11 a.m.
