Tennis claims county crown

The New Palestine boys tennis team won the Hancock County championship, placing in the finals in four of the five flights and sweeping the doubles. At No. 1 doubles, Moses Haynes/Max Havel continued their winning ways by winning the title. Also winning were Carson Rush/Andrew Hahn at No. 2 doubles. Arjomand Khokhar and Joey McPike were both second at No. 1 and 2 singles. Brady Torzewski was third at No. 3 singles. The Dragons tallied 22 points, while Eastern Hancock had 15, Mt. Vernon 12 and Greenfield-Central 11. Each school had at least one county champion. The Dragons JV also won the county title, with Tyler Walter, Brock Hehmann, Luke Bartusek/Jesse Isaacs and Jackson Clark/Davis Harrison all winning individual titles. The Dragons return to action Monday against Pendleton Heights.
