Golf repeats as HHC champion

The New Palestine golf team placed all five golfers in the top 12 and repeated as the Hoosier Heritage Conference champion Saturday, shooting a 338 at Albany Golf Course. The Dragons beat runner-up Mt. Vernon by 11 strokes. Pendleton Heights (385) finished third. Lauren Deering was the individual conference champion, shooting a 77. She was the only golfer in the 70s and won the title by four strokes. Katie Kelley finished third with an 84. Lily Kirchner finished fourth overall with an 85. Matti Tiede-White's 92 was eighth overall. Janie Hamilton shot a 94 to finish 12 as the Dragons' fifth score. The Dragons now head into the regular season's final week with a Monday trip to Fall Creek to face Pendleton Heights.
