The New Palestine boys soccer team rallied in the second half Saturday to beat Lawrence Central 2-1. The Dragons conceded a first-half goal and trailed 1-0 at the break, but rallied in the second half to take the victory. Cole Christopher scored both goals, with each assisted by Paxton Holmes. The first came as Holmes beat his man to the end line and crossed a ball across the box to Christopher at the top of the 18, who buried the shot. With 20 minutes left, Eli Martin intercepted a pass and played the ball ahead up the right side to Holmes. He whipped a cross in that deflected off a defender to Christopher on the far side for a one-touch finish. The Dragons' defense held in the final 10 minutes to seal the victory. The Dragons are now 3-3 on the season. They next play Tuesday at home against Mt. Vernon.
